How do I choose the style best for me?

We’re happy to assist you in finding the perfect style. Email contact@maekastandard.com.

What is the difference between organic cotton and regular cotton?

Organic cotton is farmed with zero use of agrochemicals, such as pesticides, which is known to reduce soil quality, contribute to water pollution, and affect the health of farmers. Organic cotton is also proven to use 91% per cent less blue water than conventional cotton.

What should I do when it’s time for my denim and I to part ways?

If you choose to dispose of your jeans, please consider an alternative option such as gifting to a friend or family member. Alternatively, contact contact@maekastandard.com and we’ll gladly have them recycled.

What is your environmental impact?

We source sustainably grown cotton, prioritise the use of natural indigo and vegetable dyes, reduce water waste and greenhouse gas emissions, utilise 100% carbon-neutral energy, and use packaging from recycled paper.  Maeka is our own state-of-the-art wash house, developed to further safeguard environmental health.

Does your packaging contain plastic?

Besides shipping labels, our packaging is plastic free. Every purchased is delivered in a recyclable and compostable cardboard box designed for easy re-use in the event of return or exchange.

What postal service do you use?

For domestic orders, we use Fastway as our primary postal service. However, if you would prefer your parcel sent with Australia Post or to a PO box, please advise us in the shipping instructions field when placing your order. International orders are shipped via Australia Post.

What is the difference between premium and regular denim?

Premium denim uses organic cotton and the finest raw materials, offering the highest quality stretch for comfort, durability and longevity. A wardrobe investment that will serve you well for years.

Are your garments vegan?

We are transitioning all garments to a leather-free, vegan patch made from jacron paper.

Why does Maeka Standard exist?

We exist to create safe, healthy employment opportunities for some of the most vulnerable members of society, particularly those who have experienced poverty, which is a root cause of many social ills, including human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Do you have a take-back or repair program?

We offer a take back service to all customers. Ensure your denim is not destined for landfill by returning them to our Headquarters to be used in our textile recycling initiatives. We'll cover postage! Simply email us at contact@maekastandard.com to organise.
